Ingredients for Simple Homemade Dough
- 1 1/3 cup filtered warm water (NOT hot) or milk
- 2 tsp dry yeast
- 1 tbsp organic sugar or honey
- 3 cups all-purpose flour, bread flour, or gluten-free flour (I use Ballerina Farm)
- 1 tsp Redmond sea salt
- 2 tbsp Primal Kitchen olive oil
How to Make Homemade Dough from Scratch
1. Activate the yeast
In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar.
Let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes bubbly and frothy.
(This step ensures your dough will rise properly.)
2. Mix dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, combine:
- Flour
- Salt
- Olive oil
3. Combine and knead
Pour the activated yeast mixture into the flour mixture.
Mix and knead for about 10 minutes, adding more flour as needed until the dough is soft but not sticky.
4. Let it rise
Lightly oil a bowl and place the dough inside.
Flip it to coat both sides, then cover.
Let it rise for about 90 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.
